Support Groups

Share offers two support groups: the Pregnancy Loss (Share) Group and the Pregnancy after Loss (PALS) Group. There is no fee. Group is non-denominational and open to all.

Share Support Group
Monthly—1st Tuesday, 6:30—8:00 PM
For Parents who have experienced a pregnancy loss through miscarriage, stillbirth, premature or full-term infant death, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), or any pregnancy loss. Open to mothers, fathers, siblings, grandparents, and any bereaved family member or individual. Individuals are free to attend one or as many meetings as they desire.

Facilitator:
Linda Harnish, RN -As the Group Coordinator, Linda heads the meetings of the Share support group. Linda is an empathic and nurturing caregiver with experience as both an obstetrical nurse at Women and Babies Hospital and a Certified Bereavement Facilitator. Linda saw the need for improved perinatal grief services at her hospital and helped create and sustain the bereavement program there. She educates other health care professionals on the subject of perinatal loss and grief. PALS (Pregnancy After Loss) Support Group
Monthly—3rd Tuesday, 6:30—8:00 PM
For families experiencing a pregnancy following the loss of a baby.  Individuals are free to attend one or as many meetings as they desire.

Facilitator:
Jake Geesey - Jake Geesey began facilitating this support group in January 2009. Jake is a bereaved parent, an active volunteer for Share of Lancaster, and a current board member. Jake and his wife, Nikki, suffered the loss of their second child in 2005, a son, Daniel, who was stillborn at 36 weeks. They have two other children, ages six and two. Jake’s grief counseling experience includes training with GriefShare International and Hospice of Lancaster County.
